Rowland R. Gomez, professionally known, as Dialect, is a music producer, lyricist, SONGWRITER, DJ, audio engineer, CREATIVE entrepreneur, PHILANTHROPIST and performer. Born and raised in Indio, CA, the city best known for the popular music festival "Coachella", on February 23rd 1988, the same year Rolling Stone magazine declared its best year in Hip-Hop, Dialect was destined for greatness. Music was Dialect's surrounding ENVIRONMENT as a child, introduced to a professional studio by his Uncle at the age of 3, and sounds of his Grandfathers Flamenco guitar filled the family home. HE BEGAN LYRICAL EXPERIMENTATION THROUGH FREESTYLING AT THE LOCAL LAUNDROMAT AT THE AGE 12. Inheriting his mother’s record collection, Dialect purchased his first turntables and PA system at the age of 13 and was dubbed the go to high school party DJ by his classmates. Dialect began experimenting with turntablism and music programming. At the age of 18 Dialect attended Los Angeles Recording School (LARS) in Hollywood, CA. There Dialect perfected his music techniques and not only obtained his Audio Engineer degree but completed his first Album “Naturally”. Dialect produced, mixed, mastered, wrote, performed and recorded THE PROJECT entirely BY himself. Once Dialect graduated from LARS he headed back to the Coachella Valley to apply his new skills in his hometown. back home Dialect began performing his new album at local hip-hop shows opening for the likes of B-Real, Murs, and The Grouch & Eligh TO NAME A FEW, and soon landed a weekly DJ gig at the Blue Bar inside Spotlight 29 Casino, AT THE SAME TIME began working at The Indio Teen Center’s first music studio. Dialect gave the studio a facelift with new equipment and ran that studio for sometime until he began designing his own music studio in Indio. He was then recruited by The Boy’s and Girl’s Club of the Coachella Valley to design and operate a new youth recording facility in THE COACHELLA VALLEY where he began to run both simultaneously. Now managing two different studios in Indio, having the four elements of hip-hop present, Dialect was also very active with producing local music, live MUSIC events, & shows, By 2011 Dialect decided to head back to Los Angeles where he attended LAFILM for his BacheLors of Science in ENTERTAINMENT Business. Since then Dialect HAS opened as a DJ for Exile, Jeremy Sole, DJ Brodzilla and Zikomo OF SOULECTION TO NAME A FEW, HE has worked as assistant engineer for GRAMMY AWARD WINNERS Bongo by the Way & Keith Harris, and LA NATIVE DJ Quik,. WORKING WITH THEN MENTOR GEORG VAN HANDEL, DESCENDANT OF FREDRICK HANDEL THE COMPOSER, DIALECT recorded acts such as Brandy Carlyle, Yuna, The Dirty Heads, Shine Down, Bill Zucker and Vicci Martinez . HE Has WORKED AS Production manager and Lead Technician for Kevin Hart's LOL Launch Party, Produced THE Boom Bap Summit WITH DJ BRODZILLA & KING-T FOR THE LiKWiT Radio LAUNCH PARTY, Produced and Hosted THE Coachella Valley Music Industry Summit in Palm Springs, and the STREET Music & Arts Festival for Westfield in Palm Desert, CA. Dialect’s most recent MUSIC project consist of him releasing a two part instrumental album, and scheduled to release his First Single off his 2nd studio album “Wen The Dust Settles” In 2020.
